Airbnb Cleaning and Restocking Supply List for a Reliable Turnover
Airbnb Cleaning and Restocking Supply List for a Reliable Turnover
A turnover can look clean and still fail operationally if the property runs out of toilet paper, has no spare pillowcases, or stores the mop where nobody can find it. Hosts should separate cleaning equipment, linen inventory, guest consumables, and maintenance supplies so every person understands what they are responsible for.
Cleaning Equipment
A basic turnover kit may include:
- Vacuum with appropriate attachments
- Microfiber cloths separated by use
- Mop, bucket, and floor-appropriate cleaner
- Bathroom brush and non-scratch tools
- Glass-cleaning cloths
- Gloves and labeled products
- Trash bags and laundry bags
- Small step stool for reachable detail areas
Do not assume one product is safe for every countertop, floor, stone surface, appliance, or fixture. Document product restrictions in the property brief.
Linen and Towel Inventory
Count what the property needs per full occupancy and keep a usable backup set. Include fitted sheets, flat sheets, pillowcases, mattress protectors, blankets, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, kitchen towels, and bath mats.
Mark damaged or stained items for owner review rather than quietly returning them to service. If laundry happens on site, verify the washer and dryer capacity against the checkout window.
Bathroom Guest Supplies
The host should define the minimum restock level for toilet paper, hand soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, tissues, trash liners, and any welcome items. A cleaner can restock from an on-site inventory, but shopping and purchasing should be explicitly assigned.
Kitchen and Coffee Supplies
Create a written list for dish soap, dishwasher detergent, sponges, paper towels, trash bags, coffee filters, coffee, tea, sugar, salt, basic spices, and any advertised welcome amenities. Distinguish between items included in the listing and private owner supplies.
Restocking Is Not the Same as Cleaning
The turnover scope should say whether the cleaning team will:
- Count supplies
- Put away deliveries
- Wash laundry
- Purchase missing items
- Report low inventory
- Replace batteries or bulbs
- Handle lost-and-found items
Clear boundaries prevent the final hour from being consumed by tasks nobody planned for.
Use Photos and Par Levels
Photograph the standard setup for beds, bathrooms, kitchen shelves, and supply closets. Set a minimum quantity for each consumable and keep a simple private log after every visit. This makes it easier to identify repeated shortages and prevent emergency restocking.
For the cleaning sequence itself, use the Airbnb turnover checklist and the broader Airbnb cleaning guide.
